Education is one of the basic principles necessary for excellence and inclusive progress of individuals and communities. On the other hand, almost all aspects of human life have been affected by the media. So far, in the formal texts of communication and media knowledge, function in the field of Islamic education has not been registered. The present study tries to investigate the necessity of defining educational function for the media, providing novel elements of media training and finally obtain a definition of educational media. The necessity of educational function has been turned on by five reasons, and novel features of media training have been introduced in three dimensions. The allowed domain of educational media is presented in three main axes of features, appropriate fields and dysfunctions and optimal range of educational media performance on two categories of damages and requirements. Media training takes place on condition of the educational use of the audience, and will fail without the proper preparation and selection of the audience. Educational media is a climate conducive to the growth of its audience, not the desert that rejects the possibility of any transcendental possibility. However, educational media is not at the forefront of Islamic education but is a turning point of education.
