Islam in inclusive of a social tradition, and social life is improbable without an order and legal system that regulates the rights and duties of its members. In the absence of order and presence of chaos, no society comes to being. Considering that in every society, order and law have individual philosophical roots and certain principles, the question is “what is the philosophy of order and law and their origin of being in the Islamic society?”
The propositional response to the above question is that the deepest source of social rules, and mutual duties and rights, is the mutual guardianship in its general sense that, on the one hand, entails the guidance of individual members of the society and providing them with a series of instinct social rulings that has come to us through the divine revelation, and on the other hand, convoys people’s faith and obedience to God, hence, order, unity, safety, justice, and other social goals, to the ultimate desired destination.
Mutual guardianship is a form of guardianship that is initiated by God to include all humankind and spread throughout the creation, and is reflected in the self of the rational human experiencing introvert and extrovert beings that manifest themselves in form of theology, love of God, and deism. This is what mutual guardianship of pious people towards God implies; “His true guardians are not but the righteous”. This results in further divine blessings for them that is the prize of mutual guardianship bestowed to the pious and the faithful; “Allah is the guardian of the faithful” and “Allah is the guardian of the pious”. The purpose of this article is to explain the response to the above question, analyze the related concepts, and reason on the propositional response to it.
