Journal of Islam and Social Sciences (JISS) is an open access double-blind peer-reviewed quarterly journal published by Research Institute of Hawzah and University (RIHU) which publish original articles, reviews, and letters pertinent to all related fields of the relationship of Islam and social sciences. The journal welcomes and reviews original research related to the relationship between other religions and social sciences. The journal provides an intellectual platform for novel researchers working on issues related to Islamic social sciences. It was founded in response to the rapid advancements in the field and is dedicated to publishing the highest-quality research studies that report findings on issues of great concern to the profession of interdisciplinary studies of Islam and social sciences.

Aims and Scope

The Journal of Islam and Social Sciences (JISS), established in 2008, is a double-blind peer-reviewed quarterly journal, owned, managed & published by Iran's Research Institute of Hawzah and University. The journal publishes original research articles that lead to the novel knowledge, innovation and understanding of the field of Islamic studies and social sciences. The major fields of specialization in the journal encompass all related aspects of Islamic social sciences. The journal scopes include but are not restricted to, the following areas:

• Social philosophy
• Philosophy of social sciences
• Methodology of social sciences
• Social considerations of Muslim scholars: (social issues and strategic theories, theories and areas of sociology including sociology of religion, sociology of knowledge, historical sociology, cultural sociology);
• Religious theorizing (inferred from Islamic resources) on social issues;
• Reviewing and comparing social religious propositions of different religions;
• Religious-Islamic sociology (subject, methods, theories, analysis and critique of approaches, goals and application, the relation of Islamic sociology with prevailing paradigms in sociology, the role and application of Islamic sociology in Islamic and non-Islamic societies);

Journal of Islam and Social Sciences is accredited by the Islamic World Science Citation Center (ISC) and has been ranked Q1.

Language

The journal is published in Persian, with extended abstracts provided in English.

Article Processing Charges (APC)

Research Institute of Hawzah and University is supporting most of the publishing costs of the Journal of Islam and Social Sciences. However, to fullfill the remained part of publications fees, the journal ask authors Article Processing Charge (APC). If the article is accepted, the corresponding author will be charged for 6,000,000 Rials as for Article Processing Charge (APC).

Subscription

Journal of Islam and Social Sciences is published as an open access electronic journal, so there is no subscription fee for audiences.
